About

Welcome! I’m Ashley, a 26 year old living just outside Boston, MA with my fiancé Mike and our pup Wrigley. In the years since graduating from college I have been establishing my career in marketing. I am currently an Account Supervisor at a media buying agency.

Over the next year my goal is to become the best version of myself. I decided to start Use It In Good Health to chronicle my journey and find the right balance between my pup, friends, food, fitness, love and work. So far it has been a challenging process, over the last year I have struggled with anxiety more than ever before. To the point where I was on medication for about a 9 month period- during this time I felt dull, gained weight and wasn’t motivated to do much for anything.

My hope is that by documenting my daily life we can start to make improvements of our mental and physical health together. Thanks for following my journey!

Why the name?

As far back as I can remember every gift my Grandmother gave me, every gift she saw me open and every purchase I told her I made, cause her to express the sentiment: “Use It In Good Health”.

Now I’m sure I’m not the only person she said this too, in fact I know I’m not. I have 14 first cousins, eight aunts and uncles, 1 brother plus my parents and I can promise you she has said the same thing to each and every one of them on countless birthdays, holidays, graduations, special events and nameless every day moments.

But, as I sat trying to think of something that would capture the essence of what I want this blog to be. A place where life’s simple pleasures are cherished. A place where mental and physical health are priorities. It was the only phrase that came to mind. Even though Use It In Good Health typically was applied to material possessions, I am learning the phrase should apply to physical and mental health too. So I would like to apply this phrase to the bigger picture and make the “It”, life.

So Cheers! To using your life in good health.
